Well I said that I would move the refashioning of my thrifted Laura Ashley velvet dress up my to do list and I did! You can see the original in this post.
I love the way it turned out. Just need somewhere to wear it now... And to remember not to lift my arms up as this raises the hem line a good 6 inches.Again I was rather worried about sewing a stretch fabric and originally I started sewing the hem by hand but it all started rolling up inside itself so I bit the bullet and ran it through the machine stretching the fabric slightly as I went and everything turned out well.
Now got to decide what to do with the bit I cut off.
